Tex Office Hours
Why TeX Office Hours?
The UK TeX Users Group is close to folding. It is a closed (paid membership only) organisation. I think it's time for an open to all UK TeX grouping. To help set this up, I'm holding a TeX Office Hour every Thursday 6:30 to 7:30pm, until the end of March.
I'm also happy to discuss Python, mathematics and other matters, but TeX (and MathJax) has priority.
Please contact jfine2358@gmail.com for the zoom URL (and to suggest a special hour).
Special hours
Special topics and guest presentations are very welcome. Don Knuth will be 83 on 10 January. On Thursday 14 January, the TeX Office Hour will celebrate Don's birthday. Come prepared with stories and questions.
James Carlson has already offered a short presentation of his MiniLaTeX project. Its aim is to give users a no-setup, real-time rendering platform for creating, editing, and distributing LaTeX documents. The app is written in Elm, a pure functional language for constructing web apps.
I've got special interests in accessibility, TeX in the browser, TeX on the server, and TeX as a callable function. According to demand, I'll make these special topics. But I intend to give priority to your special topics.
